Day 337
11:20 pm
–
open closed boxes
–
there are many
stowed away
-upper reaches of
the heart’s closet-
ones with the
typical bruises
ones with lovely
raffia and ribbon
maybe one or two
I’ve but forgotten
yours protrudes,
sitting ever still,
outside flaps,
frayed corners,
stubborn cardboard,
refusing to close
so I search for
duct tape, staples,
anything to bind this
messy package
because my shelves
have grown heavy,
-quarantine promises,
married to history-
as your contents
look to be sealed
