the notices of war

imagine their eyes, searching
the idea seems desperate,
much less unoriginal
it feels good to join the rest
post a note with a picture,
tag it with a hasty number
so to place it in the ether
everyone looks around at
all of the just in case
it makes complete sense
sometimes paper is the only
surface that can withstand hope
