Day 41
2:50 pm – 3:25 pm

Throw Caution To The Wind

mornings
are the hardest part

definitely,
living in
and
waking up
to
the mornings
are
the hardest part

we know
it is best
to stay firm
and remain away
from the place
we’d rather
be at the moment
of enduring heartbreak

we feel it
in our bones
it is easier
when
the lover is
there

there

calling

notifying us of
temporary welcome

tempting us to stay a night
just one

because it will help
for now

oh, it will feel
so good

to be together and
not to think

not to
think of being together

so, then
what will you do

asking questions of your
Asking questions

oh, let the knowing of my hindsight
tell you

what you know
but have a hard time remembering

at times like this
(everyone does!)

i say
this

i say
GO

take heed
and say fuck it

throw it to the wind
throw this feeling

to
the
wind

call
the
lover

and
have the courage to say
this

say

I
WANT
YOU

but do not,
i repeat,
DO NOT STOP

THERE

no
do not
stop there

say

I
WANT
YOU

in
this (and THIS is key)
way

I WANT YOU
in
THIS way

and

say

what

Your

THIS

is

say what you remember
in the deepest reach of your gut
and the core of your heart

what your
THIS
is

is it really only for right now
my guess is no
is it forever
in whatever sense
forever really needs to mean
for the purposes
of expressing
the need for
a living, breathing,
standing commitment
from a lover beyond the
insatiable night ahead?

from the lover
you want
now
and more than now
much more than now
let’s say, more than
tomorrow?

how about that?

how about tomorrow?

what then,
lover?

then
stand
in demand of an answer

and stand back

stand, audacious and unabashed

and take nothing less

take no prisoners, save the lover,

and remember

what
THIS
is
for
the purpose
of
YOU

remember you

in the morning

and

imagine you

in the morning

tomorrow
