Day 51
8:01 pm – 9:01 pm

let’s go

“…in this life things r much harder than in the afterworld
in this life you’re on your own..and if de-elevator tries 2 bring
u down..go crazy” – Prince

let them all come down

the disparate,
the intensely insane,
the fortunately unfortunate,
let’s rain down
and drown
the clogs in the cogs
of corporate drains

i had a friend who once said don’t let anyone tell you they are happy if they’re
doing a job like mine, i live for my daughter and not for a future of my own

he was happy enough just because he knew he was clear and not lying to himself
and this is where he is, in the chain of ways from one generation to the next

his parents were the ones who had nothing, no choices, and few ways to go
against what they were forced to accept by this, what we call our government

let us dance
as we go
let us take it down

my friend was able to go to college due to the hard work of his parents and
by no means does he resent his life, he knew this is where he chose to be

he drives home from work everyday with a cloudy chest and iron clad shoulders
but he smiles because he wonders of his daughter and her day of adventure

she is a bright, infatuated-with-life being, he tells me, she loves to dance, too
and if he has to work to his grave he will, just so she can dance her life away

the wonderfully demented

come one, come everyone, let’s celebrate
as we make it all fall
drown it
push it through the drain
let us be
who we be
the exuberantly, excellently, effortlessly, crazy
