Day 87
9:46 pm – 10:11 pm

Holiday Dinner with my country

an open hand
had flung a pie in your face
and said fuck off

take this piece
of sweaty meat and fill
yourself with it

fall in to a deep
comatose malaise and
dream of plenty

be buffet-like and
think about your second swell
before the first stab

you said why not
and of course, what with the
abundance glaring

who’s to say we
should not go for the deep end
in this land for lots

so you took it
plates, tables, even the carcass
for someday soup

i steered the crumbs
but you said leave that and the bone
bits for the next guy
