a small amount of water

falls in to her salted hand

two palms gather momentum

forms around rice

embrace enclose and cover

molds an oval ball

in to the shape of a large egg

wraps a cape of nori

all around

falls in to her grieving hand

two palms gather pressure

forms around cloth

embrace enclose and cover

molds a crushed ball

in to the shape of a wrinkled heart

wraps a cloak of sorrow

all around

a small amount of water

falls in to her pale hand

two palms gather tension

forms around paper

embrace enclose and cover

molds a crumpled ball

in to the shape of wet mulch

wraps a coat of worry

all around
