Day 95
6:08 pm – 6:49 pm

tears will never cease

fathers are imperfect beings

they are
after all

that does not keep their daughters
from holding them
even when they are dead

from being awoken by tears in
the early morning from a dream
about a memory of a memory

about a kind of laughter so hearty
and joyous it is difficult to recall
without a snickering pain

in our dreams is where they
like to test our strength and
our abilities

our capacity
to remember them toppling us
over just by watching them laugh
