Day 101
12:31 am – 1:15 am

102

You turned 120 years old
today

I don’t believe you really
died

Eighteen years ago come
tomorrow

.
.

On my way to the bank I see
you

Crossing the street in front of
me

Walking your daily two miles
alone

Carrying two bags full of old
tupperware

Hurried little legs headed back
home

On your way to take care of
Auntie

Cook another pot of soup for
Dad

Share a shot of whiskey with
Bruce

Laugh heartily right through my
throat

.
.

I’ll take a drink in your honor
now

Knowing your memory will never
cease

You exist yesterday, today,
tomorrow
