Day 117
3:34 pm – 3:55 pm

coffins and train doors

release the train door
let the spirit fly through his feet
pull the coffin to her family

gently nudge necks
to rest upon the downward cast
along a path of pomp,
somber circumstance

lay them to rest

fold their patriot quilts
in to the nests of the survivors

mourn much more ’til no more
shall be mourned
