Day 137
11:59 pm – 12:17 am

cold, hard

how fast and free it flows
away from me

borne out of the stuff
that makes the state
drool and dream

more and more
we crave it

the faster and farther
it flees

look
at the disparity
surrounding such
a silly piece
of paper
that makes
us
truly
mad
and terribly angry
and wanton
and hopeless
and dreamy

when it comes
down
to the
need

to eat!

to art!

to sit in stillness
and peace
for a moment
without having to
pay for it
at a cafe
or a yoga studio
or a museum
(see Free Target Fridays)

to smile!

to music!

to thrive!

to connect
with six hundred
other foolish
beings
without the dues
of calling it
church
or a concert
or a convention
(see NAMM)

to create!

to happy!

to breathe!

to soak in nutrients
without sitting at
an oxygen bar
outside of the tanning
salon next to an
all-night
air-conditioned
casino
with a $225
virgin strawberry
daiquiri
in hand
(see…well, Vegas)

i need nourishment
and cash

call 555-7825

if ya got any
