Day 144
6:03 pm – 6:27 pm

obaasan, halmoni

she saw the flyer
hanging on her floor
“Japanese and Korean Relations”
the first event
of its kind
downstairs
in the cafeteria of
the aging Little Tokyo Towers
she could hear some
of the old timers
grumble at the thought
of this kind of meeting
but she also heard
they might get to
watch some
new Korean dramas
and that made her happy
maybe no one
loved Chano
or You Are Handsome
more than she did
but she’d be willing to show up,
bring some rice cakes to share,
and find out
