Day 148
11:30 pm – 11:56 pm

family values

there was an exhibit she took me to see
when i was very young

there were hundreds of long, rusted nails
stuck in a huge white wall

there was a line across the top and my
mom made sure i read it

“the nail that sticks out the farthest gets
pounded down the hardest”

there she went and raised me with that
lesson by her life the example
