Day 171
12:05 am – 12:48 am

a bevy

there is a calling
that occurs
when someone
pays attention
to a story
projected upon
a screen

when the story
stings

or plainly rings
true
to pain
to hope
or
to something
as hideous
as a man
paying
for a
servant
and
calling
her
a wife

identifying
her as
a woman
who should
carry gratitude
along with
a passport
(via servitude)

there is a
service there

asked of us,
that is

to pay attention
and seek
sisterhood
simply
because
it is needed
and everyone
in the room
can feel it

an assembly
walks forth

singing like
a concert of larks
like wind
like hollows echoing
in their own chambers

like womyn writing together
as an offering

there was a song
sung tonight

a bevy of sisters
sans borders
offering medicine
to spirits
who are
calling
them now
to
stand
and proceed
