Day 220
10:48 pm

Phonograph

Some crazy minds
are like
phonographs

The play
in our heads,
potentially
endless

Calm notes,
suddenly skip
ahead without
notice
landing us in a
shrieking verse
of chaos

Or, we repeat
the same beats,
get
stuck in
a bad heap of
moments

The pile grows
into checklists
we refuse
to forget

We’re good at
spinning
records
