Day 227
9:00 pm

Willow

Stays by the side of the old oak
so she can lean better

Points to the sun so the grounded
dry leaves can not blame her

Sways to bluejays or black crows
so she won’t have to pick a song

Hides behind the shadows of
sequoias while berating them

Calls out loud for a forest but feels
best being the lone one
