Day 234
10:49 pm

for the head spinners

you will periodically
freak out
and it will
be fairly
determined
that it was
a fuck up

on your part

so go ahead and say
it

turn to your
even-keeled,
amazingly
patient partner
and
in your
honest,
most vulnerable,
childlike voice,
say,

“You’re awesome.
I’m a dumbie.”

tkk

just good

Sometimes things are just that.

Free snacks piled into your
Car after an event.
And it’s stuff you like.

Making eye contact with
Happy people dancing at a
Weekly salsa night.
And exchanging smiles.

Sitting across a table from
A friend while listening
To her speak of the hormones
Draining from her body after
An unsuccessful bout with
Fertility drugs.
And yet she feels whole
Because she just spent a
Weekend with her nephew
In discussion on dreams
And why girls like to
Chase him.

A room full of students
Wanting to share more
Of their writing to a room
Full of students after a
Semester of hiding behind
Their journals.
And they sound pretty great.

Having a book.
And someone buys it.

What is all of that?

Trust. Risk. Generosity. Courage.
Leaping.
Happiness.

Good.

Hey, have you written and posted something every day? That’d be kewl! It’s like a counter to 365! Jiye!

Yeah, these are postings of daily writings from the first day i joined the Writers Workshop on September 1st last year…but i only take it one day at a time…

Oh, technically speaking – the Contents page shows the consecutive days of writing for the Writers Workshop, but there were some times I was away from a computer and posted those days, in order, when I was back online.
