Day 244
12:35 am

twinkle twinkle a little

she was temporarily
replaced by a malfunction

until she caught a ride
with a meteor and landed
in the realm of her own

she’s hanging by a pinky tip
off the edge of her star
at twilight

amused by the swirling planets
beneath her
she swings and sings and stares

at them, they
have convened for a ballroom
dance lesson to be followed
by potlucking and plotting
what they will sow and plant
tomorrow for a future feast
come upon midnight

her eyes
are the light

above the temporary lens
of displacement and defeat
of smog and grief

she slays disbelief
and lassos connection
