Day 246
10:40 pm

you flirt

Frolicking about
The reception
There’s the looking
Back and forth
Making our way to drop
Comments here and there
In happily open suggestion boxes

Around the room we are seen
Caught in eye contact
At each others’
Side mirrors and
Over the
Friend’s shoulder glances
Edging and inching
Toward the same trash can

Attraction nudges our sides
With its firm elbow
And the giggling is mutual

Just as we secretly agree
This will not continue

What if we leave it at that

Well, what if?

Or what
We could
Jump ahead for a moment

We could just touch
For a second

A few seconds

Or what

You could tell me about
what if

Dole it gently into my ear

Giggle once more

Then let the moment disappear

Then we leave it at that
Right then
