Day 277
9:48 pm

lies, lies, lies, get up

there’d be no dancing
with me
not tonight or ever
he had a headache
and two broken feet

we hung up the phone
I went downstairs
passed the lounge
to the right of the lobby

there he was
taking in a salsa lesson
dancing with an instructor
she was impressed
you could tell
with all of her charmed
laughter, flexed calves
and firm grip around
his attention

it was the best way to
obtain clarification really
there’d be no dancing for me
with him
not tonight or ever
he was about to get
a headache and
two broken feet
