Day 278

.

he is gone.

he is gone.

can think of nothing else.

can think of nothing.

can think of nothing else.

can think of nothing but are you sure, who did you hear this from, maybe the ambulance took him to the hospital to rest and get treatment, what are you talking about, are you sure.

can think of nothing but how his health has been paramount in his mind since the heart attack. he changed his diet. he was running.

can think of nothing but malcolm and mina and our “progressive families picnic” and their defiance with any proposed group activity. the way mina was about to enter the “kids tent” until the moment she noticed john happily noting her going in.

can think of nothing but our big ideas with national bridges of families and labor and students and art and filling next year’s convention with a thousand youth. he said a thousand. or how about three thousand, he said. he did.

can think of nothing but
how most people with a big plan
have john in it.

want nothing of this.

want nothing of travel and vancouver.

want nothing of my notes on nearby bread
and bookstores and open mics.

want a plane.

want to see susan and the kids.

want to find the frame with the photo
I kept promising to give to them since the
year mina was two puffy pink cheeks.
did I give it to them.

more than the world having a plan for him,
he had plans for the world.

he had so many plans.

of course he did.

it will be hard to want more today.

want nothing of this without him.
