Day 297
5:27 pm

freeway moping

Still don’t feel like
singing along to happy songs

I’d like to drive in silence
on the freeway today

Listen to the wires cross like lightning
or to the wheels roar like
low tides against the daybreak

Waddle along with the traffic penguins
and come to a stop when I hear
the trucks boast like sea lions

Then keep driving, humming along
to the silent radio voices
mimicking music
in my head
