Day 300
6:36 pm

the bottle

she loves you
but the bottle
is her best friend

broken heart,
wounded ego,
family in the hospital,
it doesn’t matter

she understands the
idea behind being
there for you

she’s got to spend
time where it is
being caressed
by the glass

you know
she is not handling it
but don’t seem to see
she does not have
the bottle in her hand

do you see where she is?

listen more intently
take a closer look

her tiny inner fearful fighter

she basks
she swims
she smiles
she flips you off
she taps on the bottle
from within

(for auntie)
