Day 313
5:43 pm

Couldn’t help but notice

Like that ridiculous chandelier
hanging in the middle of the cafe
covered in mesh and fake foliage

You give me something
to stew on
I don’t know your name

but your thick eyeliner
and little Lululemon yoga shorts
are something to consider

I guess you took a run like that
full makeup and fully geared up
to sweat on this lovely sunny day

We make bits and flashes of eye
contact but you seem uninterested
in pursuing more than two seconds

Perhaps the only thing we have
in common is the veggie panini
that chandelier and my gaze
