Day 329
10:38 pm

knock knock knockin’

we’ve been pillow fighting with
the bibles of death

on all accounts the Jehovahs
come to share their
starchy, pressed eagerness
on weekday mornings
with citations of grandeur
and Korean language skill

they ask me to grant them
maps to likely neighborhood
driveways

i don’t say much but
save their articles in my
medicine drawer

someday
i will pause
like i did back in college
to assert a debate
to talk on death
and
nothingness
and the joy that may
be birthed when we give
in to the
void

i will point to the tattoo
on my arm
and ask them what they
think of homage to a title
for a man that never intended
to enter heaven

then likely
take another piece of
scripture
say goodbye
and close the door
