Day 362
1:59 am

summertime comes begging

enrobed, summer sheathed by sunset cover

laced, moonlight dots along the dawn of fancies,
twirls in and sings the praise of balmy nights

delight, two strangers gaze into their known
future as lovers, unknown in their impact on
the world around them, but they hold hope

awakenings, temperatures hearken to defend
the power of children in exploration of wind and
the mood of old couples who wish to sleep
peacefully on their porches, unattended

here, summer begs us to reckon with what is
here, evident, present, lacking in demure time
stamps and captured moments, by light, by
night candles, by creature comforts, we stand
here to witness our own pass with immortality
