Day 4 – To relinquish

Day 4
4:00 am

To relinquish

Save nothing

Throw away the
Paper ripped into the
Shape of a heart with
The sappy inscription
Of your haiku promises
To each other

Save no air locked into
The tiny glass jar
She blew into at some
Time in the past
When you celebrated
Your first walk together
In Hermosa Beach

Blow her letters
To the traffic wind

Relinquish the sound
Of her voice

Save no words

Heartbreak will rush in
To launch its attack on you

Open the floodgates
And let what is there

(For p)
