Day 6
12:06 am

Explosion

it always starts small

something left unsaid, leads to
an assumption on another day,
and then another, leads to
long breaths in, paired with
clipped breaths out when
something that feels like
something that
happened before
happens
again

longing followed by a wandering
in to the softened eye of the past
and the hard swallow of the future

no one moves

until someone
makes a move

by then
on both sides and all accounts
it is too late

if we had caught it
early,

would it hurt less?

man… this stanza here… amazing… great use of language:

    “longing followed by a wandering
in to the softened eye of the past
and the hard swallow of the future”
