Day 21
2:45 am

it matters not

we give ourselves places of pilgrimage,
deepened souls we think we are,
trekking to a location to be in a
time that never existed for us

we want for ideas to spring
into our contemporary
realizations, to know
better on theory

we long for roots,
and seek for
the more to
our story

and you roll
your eyes at me,
my generation that
looks for a feeling of

all the things you were
too busy surviving to mire
yourself in, but then you talk
anyway and that is all I really ask

speak of long ago to reach the part of
me who believes we are not generations
apart, we are continuance, for in any other
part of given history, your story, it matters not
