Day 45
7:30 pm

9 / 11 demolition

the scientists
and architects
are asking questions

are wondering if
9 years
could
pulverize
photographs
melted into
concrete

three buildings
in
to

none

in
to
.

.

.

A
flash

.
.
.
.
.

Fallen
.
.
.
Down
.

.
Like our memory
.

.

Failed
.

.
Or faltered tests
.

.

Like a fair bit of dust

A pile of rocks

A tiny puddle of blood

.

.

Fallen

.

.

Into

.

.
Caught
like snapshots
embedded
in the tracks
of our palms

9 years
of weight

to live
or to vanish
inside of
our
Hands

Yellow Face

When
my grandmother’s
hand took
a hold of mine
I never
thought of
the color
yellow

I thought
of bones,
thin skin
and sun spots

We’d watch TV
at her house and
Grandma
would laugh
with
Mickey Rooney

All of sudden
i was watching
two
pairs of squinty eyes,
loud chuckles,
and two old
people
laughing
at me
