Day 50
9:20 pm

Chop

Chip, like a chisel to your heart,
Bomb, ticking away at your brain,
Tap, because you’ve known
something was wrong,

if not all along then lately, yes
lately, and then she came rapping
on your door,

there is never a good way to hear
it, but you could see a noose, snug
around your breath before she
even opened her mouth,

because womyn always know when
they’ve shared their love with
another,

even if it’s too late and she has just
come too many months later,
knocking at your door
