Day 74
5:30 pm

Ever-changing never changes

The puritan in me
Wants to schedule
Dates
With you
Every week
For the rest of
My life

The whimsy in me
Wishes for the
Never-ending
Merry-Go-Round,
No time like the present
Set as a precedent

The rest of me believes
In the entire cake
From 350 degrees to
Brushing the crumbs
Off my lap

It’s as easy to see as
Nothing is as simple
As wanting one thing
