Your smile
by old headshots,
crooked teeth,
nor even the breath
behind it

To know it best
is to note
the sound of my


Scale – 2 – smile, city

The teeth of this city,
sharp around the corner,
blunt in broad daylight,

The scale of its bite
varies from block to block,
like adolescent teeth before

The facade of getting
straightened out
for good
