Day 91
11:31 pm

Scale – 15 – war

to measure hate, I can
say i know
love
well

I can measure fear, as
I dance with
joy
often enough

but in the scale of
war, to measure
peace onto
itself,

we have never held
that
mirror

even in our well-lit
streets or suburban
living rooms with
plants dying on
filtered water, we
have no idea how
to mark the
end of war or
the beginning of
peace except in
moments of
forgetfulness

in reality, is the
opposite of
war
not peace,
but
how well we
create
amnesia?

measure me, then,
on how long I can go
with
and how long I can go
without
thinking on destruction,
there,
is
war
