Day 102
6:45 pm

Scale – 26 – family

Dad can still have his place at the table

Uncle Jim can still have his spot on the couch

We can even leave out a newspaper and some
Poppy Cock on Christmas morning

Maybe we won’t go as far as presenting them
recycled-wrap gifts, but I’ve been thinking we
don’t have to see an empty room this December

Maybe they’ll step inside if I leave the door
open a couple seconds longer when
I arrive at Mom’s

Maybe they will just appear, right in the middle
of breakfast

Maybe our family will be big again during
the Holiday simply because I wish it to be

family, city
