Day 113 – even in sleep

Day 113
5:00 pm

even in sleep

I’ve watched you sleeping
on long rides in the car,
Even in sleep,
With a stern forehead
And pursed lips
I wondered what happened,
Of what you were thinking
Or if you might drool
And I might see an accidental
Puddle surround you, giving me
Some sense of relief or impression
You might actually know,
How to relax
Or a sense of concern,
That you would wake to tense up
All over again, putting yourself
Back together with stress and
A sopping hand
