Day 122
10:00 pm

prayer from a girl who never prays

once in a while
they open a door
for the girl who wants
to go to the church
where she can pray

for
good things

that will never
belong to her

just something
different

or
new

something like wanting
like hell

to see the thing wrestling with
Fear

as not
a thing

not
anymore

to see the former thing as another
little girl

a being
who holds tight

-her wrestling is not
wrestling at all-

it is the way she holds, it
is her solid grasp

because she knows
nothing else

to see her, for once, to
see her and

not
tell her she is wrong

to
not

try and send her
away

but to be able to lean down
around the little being

and hold her tight
with the warmth

of a lasting embrace who
wants nothing in return

to feel the sudden lightness
of being

that simply makes
them weep into each other

holding tighter, yet
softer somehow

the both becoming
transformed

until they no longer
need to hold on

to each other, to
what they are used to

anymore

Letter Of Intent, c.

1.

i shall hold the beast to the fire in the
winter and look in to his eyes come
spring

we will have a conversation by
summer and weather the changes
sure as autumn breezes
ring

2.

i will love all things
with any sense of
desire

who am i to forbid
any one with any
inkling towards
wanting

unless, of course,
they want for desire
over another’s
spirit

then the addendum
called conversation shall
commence

3.

let me retreat today
in to my mustiness,
my dank, dirty corners,
the dirtiest ones of all
time

let me try to seek out a
place where i can take a
nap

and see past nightmares
into my own vastness,
my wildest
dreams
