Day 125
8:49 pm

peeling the skin

There is the mound,
Then the shovel

There is the flower,
Then the nose

There is the hill,
Then the harness

There is the wall,
Then the hammer

.
.
.

There is the chance,
Then the storm

.
.
.

We can smell a break
From miles away

When we are lucky, we
Can chip the concrete

Layer by layer,
Brick by brick,

Peel back the skin
And reveal the heart
