Day 130
5:04 pm; 8:51 pm

aristocrat chicken university

we drove all night
but never thought
to unfold a map

we acted like mystics
but gallavanted like
bewildered buffoons

we should have paused
but were too busy
comparing certificates,
clucking out aphorisms
and counting sheep

Need v. Love

Been good to clean
There were stacks of 2007
Gathering dust boulders
Underneath my nightstand
And, even out of sight,
It was getting in the way

Reminded me of all
The stuff that piled up
While you were here, no
Thing of note, really, nothing
More than piles of here
And there

You stored your picture
Frames and sentiments
Somewhere else
Because, of course, the
Intention here was
Something temporary

You loved me
But that is not why
You moved in

I loved you
But that’s not how
I let you stay as
Long as you did
