Day 131
6:12 pm

even the doves

where there are guns,
there is war,
a constant war,

where guns are not held by
holsters, but ever so tightly,
by fear

where there is death of a
child at the hands of another,
there is shock above all else

even the eyes of the doves
are too dry to help sorrow
break us into peace


Locked in the moment

We are past
Issued statements,
Flags at half-mast,
Interviews with former
Classmates and teachers

The moment has

Yet we are sustained
Within it

We wish to be before
All of it



With the
The choking
Of the
Silence of
