Day 159
10:43 pm

survival – blood

i take a look
around the room
of my imaginary family
reunion

lots of characters
abound, from a monster
to a mouse to
a mute

there has always been
a good amount of tension
and noise and
silence

all the things that
amount to why we really
don’t have
reunions

then i hang out with
Greg’s family, and
pay attention to
everyone

i search, very hard,
for the weirdo, the
asshole or the
alpha male

but there is no fuss,
really, beyond typical
debate and
argument

Greg, the last child
in his immediate family,
doesn’t
want kids

it’s understandable, yet
i look at him and
it seems
unbelievable

to look around at
these generations
who
love each other

and it
all ends
with
him

to roam, to run,
to be near you,
when i want
to be near
you
