Day 171
6:35 pm

survival – keys

click, grind, turn, open
take off your shoes once inside
that wasn’t so bad

click, grind, turn, open
keep my key for the next time
maybe you’ll return

click, grind, turn, open
your feet are kind of stinky
how long should you stay?

WCC Day 18 – Week 3: The Moon’s Influence…Dreams, Cycles, Senses

Moon Pies

some time after a bout of feasting on language
and meal after meal from a dueling Tia and
godmother of a good friend,

i dreamt of being back in T’laquepaque, eating
whole sentences with a baker and savoring
every sound the wavelengths made, bouncing
back and forth between our lips.

then suddenly, he pulled a tray of white-frosted
cakes onto the counter in front of me,

i put it in my mouth.

i woke up instantly.

it was the first time i could taste!

in my dream!

taste!

dreams as sweet as they already are,
who on earth would ever want to wake
again?

it was coconut.
