Day 191
6:10 pm

shouting to the wind – 1

the winds have hit Wisconsin and the whole world is in a whirl
with itself, we are about to win or lose, either will be big

you must be mad, outright livid, with our inaction, about our
news programs and circulating essays on theorizing change

where is your hail storm voice, your louder than Midwestern
thunder passion, who says you can’t come forward

it is the spring evening I saw you that I curse, your body was
no help in making everyone and you believe you were just fine

your heart leapt and left us by summer, you were never
for the conventions of life, so do not chide us as some spirit,

come and announce yourself, simply call us out to the streets,
who, but you, could otherwise shout us, and you, back to life
