Day 202
11:14 pm

aperitif / bottle of you

when you are least looking,
i will take a sip of your breath,

make note of the hops and petals
swirling on the back of my deft palate,

and create a new concoction that i
can sell to the bar down at the corner

i won’t make a million dollars, but
i will drive the tenders to chalk this up,

charge ten crowns and 2,000 yen and
the people will pay, will come in droves

for a spell beyond their first dram, far too
happy drunk to discuss what made them

exchange all the dollar bills they usually
reserve for cab rides and cheap tips, just to

spend a moment with what i cured of you in a
bottle of enchantment bitters and ecstasy rum
