Day 218 – leech

Day 218
2:30 am


so used to the position of greasy kettle
at the back of the stove, I used to keep
everything else clean, open or available

my door,
my driveway,
the top shelves of my closet,
my schedule,
my sheets,
the washer and dryer,
my favorite wooden hangers,
my final decisions,
my degrees

not to mention
the three other burners

all for you

that silly, needy part of me thought
a good host was the one who only
catered to another’s needs

someone who thought less of
herself and
let in the
