Day 220
11:09 pm

Fahrenheit (absence)

When I was 5,
I liked
Eating magnets
To attract lazy naps
And repel homework

A quick treat,
To get away with

Then I got older
And grew weary of
The odd forces of
I could never seem to

Now I keep a box
Full of thermometers to
Eat throughout the year in
Observance of the positive
And negative forces of

I pop them in my mouth,
Letting them melt while
Watching my relationships
Unravel over time
On whether
They grow cold
Or simply feel
The absence of heat
