Day 221
11:14 pm

Fishman

The Fishman, like the
weekly ice cream truck
for the old Japanese in the
neighborhood, came every
Sunday

He was a punctual, smart
business man who also sold
rice paper candy and treats
for tiny fools like me who
were too young to appreciate
his fresh maguro or abalone

He is long gone and now,
simply bigger and older, I am
a spoiled child who wants
to have her memory and eat
it, too
