Day 243
10:15 am

excavating the bones – 2

2.

Shining like fragments
From the mouth of the earth,

Crooked teeth like bones,
Twisted inside the past,

Scattered like memories
From the pages of rewrites,

Shattered into
Bits of text

Extracted
From thin air

Whether or not
We come back to discover
Them,
Whether or not we will be
Able to touch
Truth,
Or watch it erode
With the wind,
Time will tell, as
The time winds continue
To uncover the bones of
Our stories

What teeth,
What bones,
Whose tongues will proceed?
