12. Disease

born with chromium marrow, arrival
at birth with the infection of
envy,
supplanted by malignancy,
a heart can only grow so much

to eat its own disease, to
inject more life energy into the
heart, itself,
pumping with no notion
except to stay alive

then nothing is made of much
matter, but to
pump,
itself for itself,
pump
