Excavation – 14

14. Digging v. Vacation

I am two sides of an hourglass,
weighing how much sand
to explore and just how we
might have some to spare

What have I

Is this

In this

What am I

I am two sides of a coin,
ready to trade in the worth
of definitions if to explore is
nomenclature for exploit

What is this

Why do

What am I to

Dig or derive or stretch
sand across the heart,
heart of the matter
nothing left, no excuses

To leave or
To look away

A truth that needs no
bearing or a story
asking to be shown

is not the point

But to measure time
in bits, this is not sand

It is dirt
or it is gold
