Day 261
7:15 pm

Excavation – 18

there’s a girl sitting at the
bottom of a random grave,
she’s occupying it
until someone is
interred

she’d like to get out and
discover the world but
feels safer in the
caves she
chooses

suddenly you see a hand
place its palm on the
rim of a corner at
the edge of the
grave
for one moment
before it slips back inside
again and you hear a tiny voice,

This shit is scary

and all you can do is
nod because you’ve been
out in the world before and
that shit has scared you, too
